Brian Stanley (born March 6, 1985) is an American amateur golfer and Hasski Committee member since 2013. Stanley captained the winning 2014 Hasski Blue Team to his first championship. On June 13th, 2017 he was promoted to become a Sr. Member of the Hasski Committee.
Stanley was born in Billerica, Massachusetts to Chip and Jeanne Stanley. At age 10, he was struck in the face by a metal baseball bat by fellow committee member and brother Robert Stanley. He started golf at age 12 by hitting plastic golf balls around his back yard. After seeing the lax lifestyle and on-course easy going attitude by Freddie Couples, Stanley decided to start hitting the course. He later competed for Billerica High School going 0-4 in 2002. Following the disappointing 2002 campaign (and girl trouble), Brian decided to withdraw his senior year eligibility in 2003.
After a long golf hiatus, the biggest change in Stanley’s game came when he moved to Orlando, Florida in 2010. Focusing on his ball striking and shot shaping, Stanley was able to play 3 times a week and lower his handicap by 10 points. He is now considered a yearly ‘A’ player and proud team captain.
The biggest moment in Brian Stanley’s career is his 2014 Hasski title where his team came from behind for a dramatic victory that came down to the 36th hole.
Stanley now resides in the Eastern Long Island town of Westhampton where he plays golf regularly and shares a house with his roommate, Kait.
